Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

This section provides you with details on our terms of service, types of data we collect, and how the data is used. By using this site, you signify your acceptance of this policy and terms of service.  If you do not agree to these terms and policy, please do not use this site.

This section can be updated at any time. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review it periodically and become aware of modifications. Your continued use of the site following the posting of changes will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

Advice disclaimer

All advice given is provided in good faith. It is always your own decision whether or not to follow any advice given. Serenity Organising & Decluttering Service accepts no liability for your actions and any consequences thereafter.

Working practices

Normal working hours are between 9am-6.30pm Monday to Saturday. Exact working hours are adjustable based on locations and requirements.

We are happy to undertake some light cleaning to assist the decluttering and organising process, but please note that we do not provide a cleaning service.

We cannot move or lift large items of furniture for health and safety reasons. If this service is required,  we can recommend removal services and/or charity organisations. Alternatively, your can provide your own volunteers.

Removal of items/ Green policy

We aim to promote recycling of your possessions wherever suitable and can offer advice on different options for appropriate disposal or sale. Any items removed from your property are done so, in general, at your own discretion and by yourself.

Pets safety

Please understand that we cannot look after your pets while providing service onsite. It is your responsibility to make sure your pets are in safe places i.e. crates, before we enter your premises.

Payment terms

We accept cash payment and bank transfer. Agreed payment (as quoted prior to job commencement) is required at the end of each session. A deposit of 10% of your total service price is required to secure the booking. Where skip hire is required, payment to the skip hire business plus 10% of our service fee are required.

You’re responsible for providing suitable parking space and the cost of parking where parking permits / fees are required.

If access to your premise is restricted or unsafe, we reserve the right to charge for lost time (hourly rate) and (documented) expenses incurred.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations are sometimes unavoidable, in the event of cancellation due to unforeseeable circumstances such as sudden changes of health conditions or severe weather conditions , your deposit will be fully refunded. However, if a cancellation made by you within 24 hours of the agreed start time without valid reasons , we can only credit your deposit against your account if the work is scheduled to recommence within two months of such cancellation.

Insurance

Serenity Space Organising and Decluttering Service  is covered by Professional indemnity & Public Liability Insurance to a value of £1 million.

Selling on your behalf 

You may sell books, DVDs, games, garments, small electric items and small furniture through us and fund part of an ongoing decluttering & organising process. We can arrange collecting, listing and postage for all for sale items free of charge.  For items listed over 6 months and not sold, you have the choice of donating them or have them posted back to you (we do not cover return postage). If you decide to receive cash payment of sold items, you’ll get paid 50% of final prices of sold items.

Other suppliers or services

We are happy to make suggestions and help to arrange additional services, for example, cleaners and removal companies. While we will do our best to help you find the appropriate additional service provider,  we will not be held liable if their performance falls below an acceptable standard nor for any loss or damage caused by any supplier, its employees or agents.  Any such arrangements are to be discussed prior to commencement of the job.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Serenity Space Organising & Decluttering  is a confidential service and will not divulge any associated information whatsoever to a third party without your approval. Any testimonial and/or photographs will be used only with your prior consent.

Data usage

All data we collect is primarily used to process your order. We will only use your personal data for a purpose it was collected for, or a reasonably compatible purpose if necessary.

Communication data

This includes any communication that you send to us through the contact form on our website, email, text, social media messaging, social media posting or any other communication that you send us. We process this type of data for the purposes of communicating with you, record keeping and the establishment, pursuance or defence of legal claims. Our lawful ground for this processing is our legitimate interests which in this case are to reply to communications sent to us, to keep records and to establish, pursue or defend legal claims.

Customer Data 

This includes data relating to any purchases of goods and/or services such as your name, title, billing address, delivery address, email address, phone number, contact details, purchase details and your card details. We process this data to supply the goods and/or services you have purchased and to keep records of such transactions. Our lawful ground for this processing is to process transactions.

Marketing Data 

This includes data about your preferences in receiving marketing information from us and your communication preferences. We process this type data to enable you to take in part of our promotions such as prize draws and free giveaways, to deliver relevant website content and advertisements to you and measure the effectiveness of advertising. Our lawful ground for this processing is our legitimate interests which in this case are to study how customers use our products/services, so as to grow our business.

User Data 

This includes data about how you use our website and any of our online services, together with any data that you post for publication on our website and any of our online platforms. We process this data to improve customer service, operate and improve our website, and other online services for our business. Our lawful ground for this processing is our legitimate interests which in this case are to enable us to properly administer our website and our business.

Data retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. For tax purposes the law requires us to keep your order information for six years after your last order.

Your right

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information is corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us via email.

Data sharing

We will not disclose your personal data to any third party, except as may be required by law and/or to the extent necessary to provide the service/product. For example, in order to process your order and deliver your items we may have to pass your information to some of our service providers, such as delivery companies.

This site may contain links to other sites. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We are not responsible for the operation and contents located on third-party websites.
